The inexperienced model 505 Youth shotgun, alluring in 2005, is corresponding to the Bantam Mossberg 590 but scaled down further. The 505 also-ran a 12 inch pull buttstock (compared to a standard model's 14 inches, or a Bantam's 13 inches), a 20 inch barrel, and a four endeavor gazette tube. The 505 is getable in 20 gauge and .410 bore. Parts are not interchangeable with other model 500 variants.

With the appropriate parts, the same Model 500 can be a field gun, a slug gun, defensive weapon for civilian, police, or warlike use, trap and skeet gun, or .50 gifts (12.7mm) rifled muzzleloader.
